Amber is our newest member of Dixon and Co Lawyers.
Amber grew up between Auckland and Tokoroa and currently resides in South Auckland with her whānau. Amber completed her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Criminology) at the University of Auckland in September 2019 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Auckland High Court in July 2020.
Prior to practising as a solicitor, Amber contracted her services to the Ministry of Justice as a Lay Advocate in the Youth and Rangatahi Court. Amber then went on to join Te Mata Law in March 2020 where she would specialise in Waitangi Tribunal and Māori Land Court matters. Amber eventually joined Dixon and Co Lawyers in July 2021.
Amber has appeared in various inquiries before the Waitangi Tribunal for several claimants. Her legal interests include civil litigation, estate administration, land law, Waitangi Tribunal matters, family law, relationship property, employment law and criminal law.
Amber is passionate about her mahi and continues to hone her legal skills and knowledge by taking opportunities to learn where they arise (“Mai i te kōpae ki te urupa, tātou ako tonu ai”).
Outside of mahi, Amber enjoys spending time with her friends and whānau, eating popcorn and exploring Aotearoa. Amber comes from a whānau of te reo Māori teachers and enjoys attending and helping out at their classes where she is able to continue her development in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori.
